Puʻuwai Pele (“Heart of Pele”)

Julie’s work, Puʻuwai Pele (“Heart of Pele”), is on view at the Liu Haisu Art Museum from January 15 through February 5, 2026.

The Hawaiʻi exhibition took place in August 2025 at the Wailoa Center in Hilo, with visiting Shanghai artists. From more than 300 submissions, few selected Hawaiian works were chosen to travel to Shanghai.  The artist exchange highlights the ability of art to transcend borders and politics.
